You're a Star! and My 1st Copics Experience

Hello again,
I am very happy to have a card to post tonight using my new COPICS!
This card was made for my niece Jenae who was quite crushed after not receiving an award at school. Only 2 children did get awards in her class, but in Grade 1, I think each child should get recognition for something they are good at, or improved in over the year. (That was the norm all through my Elementary Years)-I never received an award for spelling)
Anyways, now this is where my card comes in. After hearing how upset she was, I pictured this little fairy sitting on my desk that I had finished coloring and told my sister Jen that I would make Jenae a special card telling her how proud I was that she finished Grade 1 and send it in the mail. I hope it lifts her spirits.
Oh, and of course I had to encorporate a few challenges into it...

Here are the products I used:
Close To My Heart: Cranberry, Honey and Sunny Yellow CS, Sunny Yellow and Sweet Leaf Inks, My Legacy Writers Black Pens, "Flurry" Dimentional Elements,Clear Sparkles
Magnolia Stamp: Flying Tilda
Basic Grey: Green Striped Paper
COPICS MARKERS
Glitter Ritz-Light Gold
Score-Tape
Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook carty- for the 2 big stars and star strip.
Miscellaneous Items of Unknown Origin: green CS, green brad

The Challenges I am entering are:
I think that about covers it.... I'm off to do some more scrappin'. Take Care and Stay Healthy everyone so you can enjoy a beautiful summer!

Remembering...

Hello everyone,
Yes I have been away for awhile, but now I am back and hopefully July will be a quieter month-Yeah Right!
The following card I had started with a couple challenges in mind for last week, but I decided not to enter it in any. This was one of the hardest cards I have ever had to make. Yes it looks so simple, but it was the saying on the front that I couldn't seem to get right?  But when does a sympathy card ever say exactly what you want it to? It was for a colleague of mine whose 2 year old passed away. He truly was an angel.

I used all CTMH products for this. Oooh except the cricut I used to cut the Hearts with the Essentail Accents Carty.
  • Patterned Paper-Silouette
  • Cardstock-Twilight and Tulip (hearts)
  • Paper Flowers-Just Blooms
  • Brads-Twilight Cordoroy
  • Stamp Set-Angel Sent
  • Comfort Sentiment-Silouette My Stickease
Thanks for stopping by.  I'm trying out my new COPICS that I bought on-line, so hopefully I can get some cards done with them to post soon.
Have a great week!

Baby Boy- Dragonfly Card

Hello again,
I haven't gotten much achieved in the lines of scrapping these days. My little guy had his tonsils and adenoids out last Friday so he has been a little clingy. He is healing up quite well though, but still needs to stay "quiet and non-active" for the rest of the week, so no Daycare. I had to let him outside today though because it was gorgeous outside, I needed to get the jungle mowed, and he was getting stir crazy.
Last night while Jamie was home I snuck into my craft room and started playing around with my Gliter Ritz, Martha Stewart Glitter, Score Tape and my Cricut. I made quite a few cute little critters with the Create a Critter cartridge.
This morning as William was watching Jungle Book 2, I managed to put this card together.

The patterned paper I used was just scraps from my stash so I am unsure of origin. The cardstock for the flower was from CTMH- Heavenly Blue and Buttercup. The fauz stiching is with the same colour inks and stamped using the Simple Stitches SS. "Welcome to my world" and "Baby boy" were stamped from a stamp set purchased 3 years ago that I no longer have the packaging for, so I don't know it origin. I used the Accent Essentials cartridge for the flower and the Create-a-Critter cartridge for the dragonfly. I used Martha Stewart glitter "Turquoise" and Verdelite" to colour the dragonfly in. I first covered White Daisy CS with Score-tape, then keeping the top protective layer on, I ran it through the cricut to cut out the shapes. It worked awesome. I just turned the cricut pressure up and speed down.
I can't wait to try more-just need to find some time.
Hope you liked my card. I am entering it in the following challenges:

That's all for now! Take Care, stay cool and Happy Scrappin'

William's Father's Day card for DADDY!

Jamie has promised me he won't look at my blog until after Father's Day so I could post this card and enter it in a couple challenges.
William was quite excited to help me with this card for his daddy. He picked out all of the green scraps for me to use and helped me glue on the vines and "pop-up" the monkeys. The ZIG 2-Way glue pen is really kid friendly.
The CS I used for the vines and title all came from my scrap collection so they are an assortment of companies. The 2 shade of brown for the monkeys are CTMH chocolate and Bamboo. The ribbon threaded behind the title is also CTMH grosgrain Cocoa.
I used my cricut and my brand-new Create-a-Critter cartridge to make the vines, monkeys, and bananas.
I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the title. I love the "Tag" feature on the carty.
And that's pretty much all there was too it.

The challenges I am entering are as follows:

Hope you liked my card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week with lots of Scrappin'

So that means I might not get a lot of cards made after work today. I need to finish her afghan.

A "Precious" Wedding Card

Hey there!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sun! (If you are getting some) We have! I finally got the lawn mowed yesterday after work. After a week of rain it grew a foot, or at least the dandylions did anyways ={
So, I have finished up a couple projects, but only one I'll post tonight.
This card I have made for an upcoming wedding. I just love Precious Moments! And this little couple is sooo cute.

First off, I started with the weekly sketch from over at OCC Sketch Challenge Blog. I love starting with a sketch now! Gets the juices flowing faster I guess.
For this one I dug through my old scraps stash for the light mocha CS, the pink paper, and the yellow paper. The striped paper is the 1st paper I bought when I became a CTMH consultant. The "Sweet Pea" PP, now retired. The Always and Forever ribbon and the Precious Moments were purchased to make my wedding album almost 4 years ago.
For the bow I went totally out of my comfort zone and got a little crazy with an ordinary ribbon bow, some spray glue and Glitter Ritz. The lavender eyelets were from my stash and the thread was from CTMH Sassy Strands, sadly now Retired (I love these, but believe me, I stocked up!) I used CTMH pearls on the bottom. The scalloped circle, covered by the sassy strands, I cut with my cricut using the Accent Essentials carty.
The challenges I have entered my card in are:
Thanks again for stopping by! I hope to have a couple to post tomorrow! I'm heading to bed early-actually I started "The short 2nd life of Bree" something or other from the "Twilight" series and I want to finish it now!
    Happy Scrappin! Scrappy Mel
