Cards for Canadian Soldiers

Hello All!
I am finally getting a chance to post something!  I  found a blog this holiday season that sends Handmade cards to Canadian Soldiers to send to their families at Christmas time- and any other occasion for that matter. I am looking forward to sending many cards that I make to this cause. cardsforcanadiansoldiers.webs.com is Wonderful! The deadline for Christmas Cards has passed, but if you would also like to send cards of any kind in the future, please check out their website.

Now on to my cards.... I was able to get 34 ready and sent out, but.... in a mad rush to get them in the mail on time I forgot to scan may of the different kinds. Argh!!
The following cards were from a card workshop I did for mass production last year, which I did not finish, or need. All I had to do to these were add the Snowflakes which were cut using the Cricut and the NEW Creative Memories Cartridge- Cheerful Seasons. The Stamped image is a NEW stamp from Close To My Heart-Captured Moments.
All of the papers are from Close To My Heart. The patterned paper "Aspen" however is now unavailable. I have a bunch put away 'cause I love it!! But don't want to use it and run out! Isn't that silly? I'm sure some of you out there in blog land have done the same.

Hopefully I'll have more time to post again soon. I have been getting lots of Scrapbooking and Cardmaking done lately so I hope you come back to see!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping Everyone! and too our American neighbours, "Happy Thanksgiving!"

12 for 12 scrapbooking group Layouts

Hello again. Long time no post!
I recently took over a scrapbooking group for a fellow CTMH consultant and here are the Layouts we have made so far...( all products used are Close To MY Heart)
This layout I made from the new Magic Scrapbook Program using the products in the Hooligans Workshop. I didn't make the layout in the Workshop because I wanted one that I could easily adapt with Flip Flaps.
Here they are seperately with the Flip Flaps open. These new Flip Flaps by CTMH are 4x12, 6x12, and 8x12. (4x12 and 6x12 used here)

The Layouts have a few empty spaces because I have some Non-CTMH products to add, but don't want them on there for my class.
This next one is the Olivia Workshop from CTMH

I love this new paper pack. The colours are beautiful and perfect for these fall pictures of William taken 3- yes 3 years ago. I am WAY behind!
This next layout is the additional layout found on the website that you can make with the remaining paper in your package.

This pattern can be found in the new Magic Scrapbook Program by CTMH.

Hope you enjoyed my layouts. I love CTMH!
Happy Scrappin'

Stamp Sets- CTMH ( Believe Upper Case, and Simple Stitches)

Nighty night, sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite!

What a crazy, busy weekend I had. I finished this card on Friday night, but never had a chance to post it until now. Because of that I missed out on the challenge that this sketch was based on. Oh well. I made this card for a special friend who is moving. She is my CTMH upline, who just happens to live a couple blocks from me now, but is moving to Toronto next week! Mommy and Me 8x8 Layout

Too busy last night to post!
I have yet another day off from work before another 4 days with call.
Here is the other layout I finished on Tuesday. Once again I started with a sketch from a challenge.
All of these papers came out of my stash. I am thinking of changing the name of my blog to My Pretty Stash of Paper!! What do you think???
Patterned Paper: Paper Pizzazz, Adorn It, Creating Keepsakes
Stamp Sets(mat border): CTMH-Classmate Alpha, Smitten'
Stickers: Paper Pizzazz
The "Mother" is actually part of the 3rd layer of paper. I just took a cutting knife and outlined it so I could slide the next paper strip behind and keep that part of the paper for my title.
I am only entering this in 1 challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great Thursday!

Me and My Daddy 8 x 8 LO

Once again I started with a Sketch and then slowly got my papers together after searching through the Stash.
I used a bunch of Stamp Sets for this LO ( Even though you probably can't tell.) I mixed and matched a bunch of my Alphabets for the title. I stamped in the Star, and the Arrow is a stamped image as well; up on sponge squares.

Thanks again for looking. My other LO that I was going to post will have to wait until tomorrow. I REALLY need to get to the laundry and cleaning up in my craft room. When I can hardly get in and out of the chair without stepping on paper or tools, it's time for something to be done.
Good Night and hope to see you back tomorrow.

Mom and Dad Facts

I got 4 pages done today! But I am back to work tomorrow, so that might be it for awhile. The other 2 will be in the next post.
I spent a lot of time searching through all of my papers, but at least I am using it up! I came across these Recipe stickers by EK Success yesterday while searching and remembered that the new H2H challenge was "Recipe", so that is where I started this morning. Then I tried to find a sketch to follow and I managed to make Stamping 411's work. (I think) I background stamped the Crystal Blue base pages to bring the LO more together.
Here's the final outcome:
And now the Lay Out Recipe:
  • Patterned Paper: CTMH-Miracle Kit

8 x 8 album pages.......My Grandparents

My next few posts will be of 8x8 album pages I am working on for a baby album. The album is for my best friend Carmen who is having a baby boy. She should be having him any day now, since she was due on July 10th.
I have been trying to follow a few challenges, but still want to follow the theme that I originally wanted. (And bought everything for!)
This first one "My Grandparents" took me 3 hours! Who would have thought? That is because I took the sketch from a challenge and adapted it into an 8 X 16 layout.

I used an assortment of products for these pages.
First I'll start wtih the adorable digital stamps. They are from Bugaboo and I plan on using them a lot throughout the album. They were coloured using COPICS. I used my new Cherry Limeade Cricut Cartridge for the letters and Plantin Schoolbook for the circles. The patterned papers were from 7gypsies, MME, Creative Memories, and Kei. The CS is CTMH-Cocoa, Topiary, Crystal Blue, and White Daisy.
The Challenges I am entering this LO in are:

Stamp Something- Go Digital!
Practical Scrappers-Using your old Stash-Older than 1 year- 3 of these patterned papers I have had over  1 year for sure. The Blue Lettered one maybe almost 3 years.
The Stamp Man-Anything Goes

You're a Star! and My 1st Copics Experience

Hello again,
I am very happy to have a card to post tonight using my new COPICS!
This card was made for my niece Jenae who was quite crushed after not receiving an award at school. Only 2 children did get awards in her class, but in Grade 1, I think each child should get recognition for something they are good at, or improved in over the year. (That was the norm all through my Elementary Years)-I never received an award for spelling)
Anyways, now this is where my card comes in. After hearing how upset she was, I pictured this little fairy sitting on my desk that I had finished coloring and told my sister Jen that I would make Jenae a special card telling her how proud I was that she finished Grade 1 and send it in the mail. I hope it lifts her spirits.
Oh, and of course I had to encorporate a few challenges into it...

Here are the products I used:
Close To My Heart: Cranberry, Honey and Sunny Yellow CS, Sunny Yellow and Sweet Leaf Inks, My Legacy Writers Black Pens, "Flurry" Dimentional Elements,Clear Sparkles
Magnolia Stamp: Flying Tilda
Basic Grey: Green Striped Paper
COPICS MARKERS
Glitter Ritz-Light Gold
Score-Tape
Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook carty- for the 2 big stars and star strip.
Miscellaneous Items of Unknown Origin: green CS, green brad

The Challenges I am entering are:
I think that about covers it.... I'm off to do some more scrappin'. Take Care and Stay Healthy everyone so you can enjoy a beautiful summer!

Remembering...

Hello everyone,
Yes I have been away for awhile, but now I am back and hopefully July will be a quieter month-Yeah Right!
The following card I had started with a couple challenges in mind for last week, but I decided not to enter it in any. This was one of the hardest cards I have ever had to make. Yes it looks so simple, but it was the saying on the front that I couldn't seem to get right?  But when does a sympathy card ever say exactly what you want it to? It was for a colleague of mine whose 2 year old passed away. He truly was an angel.

I used all CTMH products for this. Oooh except the cricut I used to cut the Hearts with the Essentail Accents Carty.
  • Patterned Paper-Silouette
  • Cardstock-Twilight and Tulip (hearts)
  • Paper Flowers-Just Blooms
  • Brads-Twilight Cordoroy
  • Stamp Set-Angel Sent
  • Comfort Sentiment-Silouette My Stickease
Thanks for stopping by.  I'm trying out my new COPICS that I bought on-line, so hopefully I can get some cards done with them to post soon.
Have a great week!

Baby Boy- Dragonfly Card

Hello again,
I haven't gotten much achieved in the lines of scrapping these days. My little guy had his tonsils and adenoids out last Friday so he has been a little clingy. He is healing up quite well though, but still needs to stay "quiet and non-active" for the rest of the week, so no Daycare. I had to let him outside today though because it was gorgeous outside, I needed to get the jungle mowed, and he was getting stir crazy.
Last night while Jamie was home I snuck into my craft room and started playing around with my Gliter Ritz, Martha Stewart Glitter, Score Tape and my Cricut. I made quite a few cute little critters with the Create a Critter cartridge.
This morning as William was watching Jungle Book 2, I managed to put this card together.

The patterned paper I used was just scraps from my stash so I am unsure of origin. The cardstock for the flower was from CTMH- Heavenly Blue and Buttercup. The fauz stiching is with the same colour inks and stamped using the Simple Stitches SS. "Welcome to my world" and "Baby boy" were stamped from a stamp set purchased 3 years ago that I no longer have the packaging for, so I don't know it origin. I used the Accent Essentials cartridge for the flower and the Create-a-Critter cartridge for the dragonfly. I used Martha Stewart glitter "Turquoise" and Verdelite" to colour the dragonfly in. I first covered White Daisy CS with Score-tape, then keeping the top protective layer on, I ran it through the cricut to cut out the shapes. It worked awesome. I just turned the cricut pressure up and speed down.
I can't wait to try more-just need to find some time.
Hope you liked my card. I am entering it in the following challenges:

That's all for now! Take Care, stay cool and Happy Scrappin'

William's Father's Day card for DADDY!

Jamie has promised me he won't look at my blog until after Father's Day so I could post this card and enter it in a couple challenges.
William was quite excited to help me with this card for his daddy. He picked out all of the green scraps for me to use and helped me glue on the vines and "pop-up" the monkeys. The ZIG 2-Way glue pen is really kid friendly.
The CS I used for the vines and title all came from my scrap collection so they are an assortment of companies. The 2 shade of brown for the monkeys are CTMH chocolate and Bamboo. The ribbon threaded behind the title is also CTMH grosgrain Cocoa.
I used my cricut and my brand-new Create-a-Critter cartridge to make the vines, monkeys, and bananas.
I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the title. I love the "Tag" feature on the carty.
And that's pretty much all there was too it.

The challenges I am entering are as follows:

Hope you liked my card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week with lots of Scrappin'

A "Precious" Wedding Card

Hey there!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sun! (If you are getting some) We have! I finally got the lawn mowed yesterday after work. After a week of rain it grew a foot, or at least the dandylions did anyways ={
So, I have finished up a couple projects, but only one I'll post tonight.
This card I have made for an upcoming wedding. I just love Precious Moments! And this little couple is sooo cute.

First off, I started with the weekly sketch from over at OCC Sketch Challenge Blog. I love starting with a sketch now! Gets the juices flowing faster I guess.
For this one I dug through my old scraps stash for the light mocha CS, the pink paper, and the yellow paper. The striped paper is the 1st paper I bought when I became a CTMH consultant. The "Sweet Pea" PP, now retired. The Always and Forever ribbon and the Precious Moments were purchased to make my wedding album almost 4 years ago.
For the bow I went totally out of my comfort zone and got a little crazy with an ordinary ribbon bow, some spray glue and Glitter Ritz. The lavender eyelets were from my stash and the thread was from CTMH Sassy Strands, sadly now Retired (I love these, but believe me, I stocked up!) I used CTMH pearls on the bottom. The scalloped circle, covered by the sassy strands, I cut with my cricut using the Accent Essentials carty.
The challenges I have entered my card in are:
Thanks again for stopping by! I hope to have a couple to post tomorrow! I'm heading to bed early-actually I started "The short 2nd life of Bree" something or other from the "Twilight" series and I want to finish it now!
    Happy Scrappin! Scrappy Mel

Childhood Portrait Birthday Card

Hey Y'all,
I only got one card today, but that is o.k. I spent some quality time with William watching Alladin and playing dinosaurs and reading stories about Super Friends and CARS.
For the challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges, we had to use our favorite stamp set. Well I have so many favorites, each one from their own category. But since I had to go with just one I chose Close To My Heart's Childhood Portrait. I just love these cute silhouettes.

The patterned paper was from October Afternoon. I stamped the little boy with Juniper, Sunflower, Cranberry, Sweet Leaf and Moonstruck inks. All from CTMH. I used the Cricut to cut the Happy Birthday with the A Child's Year cartridge.
Now should I give this card to my 35 y.o brother or 3 y.o nephew? LOL!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Scrappin'!
